We can’t talk about a firm sense of security without a dialogue and an understanding with Russia.   

Newly inaugurated Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko stated the aforesaid in an exclusive interview with Time magazine, UNIAN news agency reported.  

“Maybe some Ukrainians would like to have Sweden or Canada for a neighbor, but we have Russia,” he said.

According to Time, that is why Poroshenko spent the first full day of his tenure in “marathon talks with the Russian ambassador to Ukraine, Mikhail Zurabov.”

The Ukraine President finds that he has no choice but to keep Russia at the negotiating table, as no country is prepared to guarantee his country’s security from further attack.
