YEREVAN. – Haykakan Zhamanak daily has learned that the health condition of Vahan Hovhannisyan, who is Armenia’s Ambassador to Germany, former MP, and opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party member, has taken a sharp turn for the worse, the daily reported.

“He is in a German hospital at present.

“Our diplomatic sources inform that Hovhannisyan’s health deteriorated immediately after a surgery. The relevant [Armenian state] bodies, however, are not in a hurry to confirm [this] information.

“Yesterday [, Wednesday,] when our reporter called the Embassy of Armenia in Germany, they informed that it is impossible to speak with the ambassador, he is not [at the Embassy], he will not be there for one more week, and Chargé d’Affaires Ashot Smbatyan is replacing him,” Haykakan Zhamanak wrote.
