Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, who is on an official visit to Austria, on Thursday met with President Kristof Lajtl of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The interlocutors underscored the need to take steps to expand the Armenian-Austrian trade and economic cooperation, and expressed confidence that the Armenian-Austrian Economic Forum—which is held in Vienna and within the framework of President Sargsyan’s visit to Austria—will be useful in terms of promoting contacts and developing the cooperation between the businessmen of the two countries.

Sargsyan and Lajtl noted that even though the bilateral trade turnover indicators are gradually improving, the trade and economic cooperation needs a considerable boost.

Subsequently, Armenia and Austria Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Heinz Fischer delivered welcoming remarks at the economic forum, and they wished success to the event and for the benefit of the development of the economic cooperation between the two countries.
