United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, on the day of his birthday and together with Bolivian President Evo Morales, officially opened several social buildings in Bolivia.

While in Bolivia, Ban Ki-moon on Friday celebrated his 70th birthday, he was presented with a cake made with coca leaves, and the children’s choir sang to him “Happy Birthday” in English, Spanish, and Ayoreo (a local native Indian dialect), reported the ABI agency of Bolivia.

Ever since his first years in office, Bolivian President Evo Morales defends coca as a plant. According to him, the coca leaves are not narcotics and they are a part of the Andean culture.
