Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov accused PACE Vice President Rene Rouquet of violating Azerbaijan's law on border.

The PACE members are dealing with the legislation, but it does not mean that someone must violate and disrespect laws of member states, he said.

The Minister also gave an original answer to situation on human rights in Azerbaijan, saying no one can say that there are pure democratic states in the world. Asked about lobbying, Mammadyarov said “it is something that you use here in Srasbourg”. 

According to him, Azerbaijan not only displays religion tolerance, but “religion tolerance in Azerbaijan is quite high”.

Earlier PACE decided not to hold meetings in Azerbaijan for two years after authorities denied visa to Vice President Rene Rouquet for visiting Nagorno-Karabakh.
