YEREVAN. – Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s response to the British MP at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) session disgraced Aliyev even more in front of the European family than if the Armenian delegation had posed him a question.
Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party National Assembly Faction Secretary Tevan Poghosyan stated the abovementioned at a press conference on Friday, answering the query as to why the Armenian delegation to PACE was passive at the session.
“A delegation to PACE has thirty seconds to pose a question, whereas the person in front of you [has] an unlimited time to respond.
“Aliyev had prepared [himself] to respond to virtually all questions by the Armenian party. Time will pass, [and] we will assess,” Poghosyan added.
At the PACE session on Tuesday, the Azerbaijan president had accused British delegate Paul Flynn of lying, since the British MP had “dared” to ask Aliyev about attacks against journalists in Azerbaijan.
