Israeli students plan to arrive in Turkey with humanitarian aid intended for the Armenian and Kurdish ethnic minorities suffering discrimination by the Turkish government, said Boaz Toporovsky, Chairman of the National Students Union.

The organizers are currently looking for a vessel, though a skipper was found - a member of the navy veteran’s union Arik Ofir, izrus.co.il reports.

The students intend to supply medical equipment and medicine to the Armenians and Kurds in Turkey. However, Toporovsky says that they need additional funds and recruit more people.

The vessel is expected to leave one of Isareli ports late this week.

Earlier, the editors of two Armenian newspapers published in Turkey told NEWS.am that the present tension in Israeli-Turkish relations does not in any way affect the Armenian community in Turkey. Moreover, they have not even thought about it.
