YEREVAN. – Armenia Minister of Justice Hovhannes Manukyan on Friday received a delegation led by US Ambassador John Heffern.  

The parties discussed the priorities for the judicial and legal reforms envisioned by the Armenian government program, informed the Ministry of Justice press service.  

Manukyan presented to the ambassador the possible formats and directions for future cooperation, and stressed the need for an independent and accountable judiciary in Armenia.

Underscoring the introduction of the probation service in Armenia, the interlocutors exchanged views on carrying out substantial improvements in the penitentiaries of the country.

In addition, they highly appreciated the current level of their cooperation, and expressed willingness to contribute to its deepening and becoming more effective.
