Commenting on a statement that Russia will never recognize Nagorno-Karabakh, which was made by Chairman of the RF Council of Federation Sergey Mironov, Yuri Navoyan, Head of the ARF-D office in Moscow, called it “a stock protocol phrase uttered during a welcoming address to an official delegation.”

According to him, economic cooperation is basis of Azerbaijan’s parliamentary cooperation, but that country has not yet reached the strategic cooperation level.

“Russia does not recognize any sovereign entity named “Nagorno-Karabakh” and is not going to do it in the future. Russian parliamentarians’ visit there was an unnecessary act of presumption,” Sergey Mironov stated at his meeting with Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Ogtay Asadov in Moscow.
