United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Jeh Johnson informed that the US will increase security at overseas airports with direct flights into the country.   

In Johnson’s words, DHS constantly assesses the global threats and reviews the security measures in airline passenger transportation, the Voice of America reported.  

But the DHS chief did not specify which airports or what countries would be affected, nor did he say what triggered the extra precautions.

The Obama administration members had said that the US plans to beef up security at overseas airports with direct flights into the country because of concerns that al-Qaida operatives were developing bombs that could be smuggled onto planes.
