Iraqi Kurdistan leader Massoud Barzani spoke at the parliament of the autonomous region, and with an initiative to conduct a referendum on secession from Iraq.   

Barzani stressed that, “The phenomena now taking place in Iraq are the result of the incorrect policy by [Iraqi] PM Nouri al-Maliki,” reported ITAR-TASS news agency of Russia.       

Last week, Barzani had announced that ever since the Kurdish Peshmerga military units entered the Kirkuk Governorate, Kirkuk city’s and the other disputed territories’ affiliation to Iraqi Kurdistan was decided once and for all.
