Turkish President Abdullah Gul met with his Iranian, Afghan and Kazakh counterparts on the sidelines of the third summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Istanbul, on June 8-9, the Turkish Ihlassondakika website reports.
The Gaza incident was the focal point of the talks. Gul reiterated his position that Turkey will not forgive Israel, if that country does not agree to normalize relations in a way acceptable to Turkey. Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad backed Turkey, pointing the inadmissibility of the Israeli military actions against the humanitarian convoy.
Gul and his Kazakh counterpart also discussed energy issues, as well as developments in Kyrgyzstan.
