President Petro Poroshenko has given the Ukrainian army the order to raise the country’s national flag in Slavyansk city, UNIAN news agency reported citing the President’s press service. 

“Viktor Muzhenko, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has reported to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko that the militants tried to get out of Slavyansk tonight and they came under the mortar fire by the Ukrainian troops.

“As a result, one tank, two armored personnel carriers, and two landing combat vehicles of the adversary were destroyed.   

“The President has instructed the Chief of the General Staff to restore the national flag on the Slavyansk Municipal Council building,” the respective statement reads, in particular.
