YEREVAN. – Signing of the Ukraine-European Union (EU) Association Agreement does not categorically change Armenia-Ukraine relations. 

Ukrainian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Kukhta told the abovementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am and the RFE/RL Armenian service.  

In his words, Ukraine and Armenia seek to develop cooperation.

“And, of course, first and foremost, [they seek this] in the economic direction, since there is an extensive trade between Ukraine and Armenia,” Kukhta noted.  

To the query on whether or not any changes may occur after the ratification of the EU Association Agreement, the ambassador responded by stressing that there is a free trade agreement between Armenia and Ukraine.  

“And there may be some changes in the relations, charging fees, etc. [But] I believe they are not subject to discussion,” the ambassador noted.
