Armenia accepts the Madrid Principles as a basis for the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, with people’s right to self-determination under international law being the pivot of negotiations, RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian stated in Parliament.
He pointed out that Azerbaijan objects to this principle, as well as to the nonuse of force, strengthening of the cease-fire regime, and withdrawing snipers from the front line.
“It is clear no everybody that the Karabakh people will never live in Azerbaijan again. So Azerbaijan’s attempts to deceive the international community are vain. The Azerbaijani leaders are only deceiving their own people,” Nalbandian said.
Speaking of the recent Russian-Armenian presidential meetings, the Minister said that they do not arouse official Yerevan’s concern over Armenian-Russian strategic partnership and Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
