There is no alternative to Egyptian mediation in the Palestinian reconciliation process, stated one of the Hamas leaders and members of the Palestinian Legislative Council.

Turkish mass media considers the statement shocking, as Ankara repeatedly offered its help as a mediator, and several days before Turkish Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he does not consider Hamas a terrorist organization.

"We aren't looking for an alternative to Egypt or to the Egyptian reconciliation document,” the leading Hamas member Ayman Taha said.
