The e-Governance Infrastructure Implementation Unit has been issuing e-signatures for a year and about 1,000 RA citizens got e-signatures, the organization’s project manager Hrach Tamrazyan told NEWS.am-Innovation. He added that e-signatures have recently become very popular. 

“People wish to get e-signature to avoid paper chase and queues,” Tamrazyan said.  E-signatures afford certain opportunities, namely, e-versions of tax accounts, e-document circulation, e-transactions with foreign business partners.

E-signatures are presently an imperative for large tax payers in Armenia, but large companies are not the only ones interested in getting them.

“A number of small and medium enterprises use e-signatures to facilitate their activities, though it is not obligatory,” he stated.
