The forth joint session with the EU High Level Advisory Group to Armenia is a good occasion to discuss the all the work carried out over the past year, and draft future programs, RA National Security Council Secretary Artur Baghdasaryan stated at his meeting with an EU delegation on June 11.

The work was carried out in three directions, namely, the signing of EU association membership agreement, progress in the talks on free trade and the establishment of a new justice commission in Armenia.

“Armenia-EU action plan accounts for reforms in 190 fields. I would like to point out certain achievements, particularly the establishment of a diplomatic school in Armenia, the activities to ease visa requirements, legal reforms, including the reforms in police, national human rights protection program, as well as a free trade agreement with the EU, which will allow Armenian manufacturers to export products to the European market without obstacles,” Baghdasaryan said.

The Head of the European Commission Delegation to Armenia Raul de Luzenberger said he is happy for the high appraisal of the Group’s activities. He welcomes further cooperation, pointing out the first experience can be a model for the EU to conduct contacts with other states.
