YEREVAN. – The government and people of Armenia have registered considerable progress in fight against trafficking over last 10 years, UN Resident Coordinator Bradley Busetto said.
All over the world people are getting assistance to raise awareness of this terrible phenomenon.
“For me, trafficking is the most terrible crime. Those implementing trafficking deprive people of hope,” Busetto told reporters on Wednesday, when UN marks the World Day against trafficking in persons.
On the one hand the problem is worsening all over the globe, he said, adding that in case of Armenia, improvements have been registered in three main areas: work towards adoption of legislation, implementation of existing legal instruments, relevant materials at schools and educational institutions to raise awareness.
