YEREVAN. – The recent upsurge in violence in Karabakh conflict zone will not grow into large-scale hostilities, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volynkin told reporters.

Ambassador believes the recent events are unlikely to turn into a large-scale war.

“We are concerned over situation, as the problems cannot be solved by military means. Ceasefire should be maintained shortly, and the parties should hold talks,” he said, adding that the conflict must be solved peacefully.

The situation in Karabakh conflict zone has deteriorated sharply over the recent days. Azerbaijani side made attempts of attacking military outposts of the Armenian side and shelled border villages.
