To a large extent, there is no reason for the resumption of large-scale hostilities, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan told reporters after a meeting with the heads of parliamentary factions, Armenpress reported.

“The situation is tense at the forefront. At any time, our neighbors can organize provocations, which in turn could escalate into war. But we, the President, the military and political leadership, are doing our best to reduce tensions. Analysis of the situation of recent days shows that by and large there is no reason for resumption of large-scale military actions,” the Minister noted.

Commenting on the decision of a group of volunteers to go to the frontline, the Minister welcomed patriotic mood, but noted that an army without such assistance as well as without reinforcement and putting on an alert is able to perform the tasks at the moment.

“You saw our response was so powerful that they had to come to their senses,” Ohanyan added.
