YEREVAN. – Armenia's Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan received experts of the World Bank Nikolaus Auisusi, economist on agricultural production Bekzod Shamsiev and responsible for the WB Armenian office Arusyak Alaverdyan.

During the meeting the sides noted positive trends creating sustainable prerequisites for holding “Second Community Agricultural Resource Management and Competitiveness” project for Armenia.

The second stage of the program will include involvement of new communities, clarification of the pricing as well as the support for Agriculture Ministry in implementation of agricultural projects of the World Bank in Armenia.

The Minister hailed the start of a new program and noted that in the context of growing livestock number, there are serious prerequisites for development of meat industry. Therefore, the country needs new slaughterhouses and milk processing facilities, as well as combine harvesters for larger food supplies.

WB representatives expressed willingness to discuss these proposals and to support their inclusion in the new program.
