Presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan discussed upcoming meetings with the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders in Sochi during a phone conversation on Thursday.

Vladimir Putin and Nursultan Nazarbayev discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation and regional interaction in the Eurasian space, Kazakhstan president's office said in a statement.

The leaders exchanged views on situation in Ukraine and possible steps on holding direct talks with the president of Ukraine in different formats.

In addition, the Presidents discussed an upcoming meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders in Sochi aiming to bring closer positions of the sides.
