YEREVAN. – The Madrid Principles assume a peacekeeping mission, but this is not a topic and a subject matter of negotiations at this phase, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said on the air of Armnews television.
“This provision exists in the Kazan document, but the composition, the powers of the peacekeeping forces will be determined in the Grand Agreement, which must follow the signing of this document,” Sargsyan noted.
Reflecting on Sunday’s meeting in Sochi, Russia, between the presidents of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan, the Armenian President stated that the Russian president had wished to know whether the parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict wanted for the latter to be solved, and what were their expectations.
To the query as to why the CSTO has not responded to the aforesaid trilateral meeting, Serzh Sargsyan said that there was no need to respond and that the CSTO Secretary General will visit Armenia soon, and this already is a treatment.
