YEREVAN. – Armenia's Ambassador to China Armen Sargsyan took part in the 70th annual session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).

Speaking during the plenary session, Ambassador Sargsyan presented Armenia's economic achievements, improvement of competitive environment and formation of knowledge-based economy. He touched upon the struggle against poverty, development of IT sector in Armenia and implementation of North-Soth corridor project, a strategically important program for Armenia, foreign ministry's press service reported. 

During a conversation with UN Under-Secretary-General and ESCAP Executive Secretary Shamshad Akhta, Ambassador Sargsyan discusses prospects for intensified interaction between Armenia and the Commission as well as implementation of different projects in Armenia.
