ETCHMIADZIN. – Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin is not commenting on the response by Azerbaijani spiritual leader Allahshukur Pashazadeh who voiced accusations against Armenians, press service of the Holy Etchmiadzin said.

Earlier Catholicos of All Armenians called on Pashazadeh to take efforts to make Azerbaijan stop threatening peace process in Karabakh. However, in his response Azerbaijani spiritual leader voiced accusations against Armenians presenting “arguments” typical for bellicose statements by Azebaiani authorities. 

The Holy Etchmiadzin representative told Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent it was senseless to comment on the letter since its speaks for itself.

In his letter, Azerbaijan's spirtiual leader tried to shift the blame on others, resulting in “arguments” that are more characteristic of Azerbaijani military authorities than a spiritual leader. Instead of willingness to preserve peace at the line of contact, Pashazadeh urged Catholicos of all Armenians “to influence the Armenian authorities to withdraw troops from Azerbaijani territories and take a constructive position in peace talks”.

Meanwhile, it is worth reminding to not only secular but also religious authorities of Azerbaijan, that their side violated the ceasefire at the line of contact over 20 times and it is evidenced by the undeniable facts.
