YEREVAN. – The Armenia Special Investigation Service has completed its investigation into the criminal case that has been launched against police officer Mkrtich M.

The investigation has proved that by violating—on May 30—the rules for possessing and bearing arms assigned to an Armenian police officer, and at the request of fellow police officer Sargis H., Mkrtich M., had handed him his service revolver.

And as a result of the shot that was fired due to negligent handling of the weapon, Sargis H. received a medium severity gunshot wound.

Subsequently, criminal charges were brought against Mkrtich M.

The criminal case, along with the indictment, has been submitted to the General Prosecutor’s Office for approval and being forwarded to court.
