YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan's aggressive policy, not the unsettled Karabakh conflict, is a real threat to regional peace, Larisa Alaverydan said.
Alavrdyan, the first ombudswoman of Armenia, emphasized that Azerbaijan is now expanding the conflict zone and is escalating situation not only at the line of contact with Karabakh but on the state border with Armenia.
“Without solving the conflict, Baku is trying to provoke another one,” Larisa Alaverdyan said during a media conference on Wednesday.
The Armenian authorities, by using international platforms, must show the international community that it is Azerbaijan that is provoking escalation in the South Caucasus.
The Azerbaijani Armed Forces have been repeatedly violating ceasefire at the line of contact with Karabakh, and have been recently shelling border villages of Armenia's Tavush Region.
