World-renowned French-Armenian singer, songwriter, actor, public activist, and diplomat Charles Aznavour recommends that France accept the threatened minorities—including Armenians—in Iraq and in Syria into the country and accommodate them in French villages. 

Aznavour wrote about the aforesaid in his article published in Le Figaro daily of France.

“Is it not our duty to ethically and sensibly help these people, and as soon as possible?” Aznavour asked in his article.  

“In his words, these Christians, Kurds, Yazidis, Muslims, and many others need to leave their countries forthwith.

“Yes, but where to go? And why not France? My recent trips in France enabled me to see the wonderful villages which are abandoned. Since those who were to live there have left, why not replace [them] with those who need it? They would have an obligation to restore them [the villages], to revive, cultivate the lands again. They could live in peace,” Charles Aznavour stressed, in particular, in his article.
