The Yerevan brandy factory “Ararat” is reducing its purchases of grapes by 10%, said Director Ara Grigoryan. The reason is reduced exports. This year the factory needs no more than 14-15 thousand tons of grapes.

However, the management decided to purchase 29,000 tons. The factory is capable of storing this amount. The purchasing price will be lower than last year. The grapes price is 130 AMD for 1kg in the Ararat region, and 120 AMD for 1kg in Tavush.

A fair yield is expected this year, but the brandy factory is revising its contracts with farmers. It has reduced its purchases by 20-22 per cent as compared with last year.
