Turkey has been a target for German intelligence agency (BND) for several years, Der Spiegel magazine reported quoting its sources.

Since 2009 Turkey has been included in the list of the important states that is updated every four years. This means that Turkey has been recently one of the main targets for German intelligence gathering.

According to the sources, BND was also tapped a satellite phone conversation of Secretary of State John Kerry made in 2013 as part of its surveillance of telecommunications in the Middle East, Hurriyet Daily News reported.
