YEREVAN. – Monday, August 18, is the day of remembrance of the dead and a non-working day in Armenia. 

By the decision of the government, the Mondays that follow the five main feasts of the Armenian Apostolic Church have been declared non-working days.    

On Sunday, the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God, and this is fourth of the aforesaid five main feasts of the Armenian Apostolic Church.      

And following the Divine Liturgy, the ceremony of blessing of the grapes was conducted. In addition, the entire harvest and crops were blessed.   

On the following Monday of the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God, the Armenian Apostolic Church offers a Holy Mass and a requiem service and, subsequently, the Armenian faithful visit the graves of their loved ones.
