YEREVAN. – The six National Assembly (NA) factions of Armenia are preparing to submit to the government a joint program, whereby some privileges are envisioned for residents of the border villages of Tavush Region.

Opposition Heritage Party NA Faction Head Ruben Hakobyan told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am, reflecting on the several NA MPs’ recent visit to Tavush.

“Our objective was to visit the [Armenian military] positions, see what’s happening [there], and also to have meetings in the [rural] communities.

“The soldiers are very keyed up. Our positions are well protected, the soldiers are well aware of their duty, and they stand in their positions very confidently,” he said.

In Hakobyan’s words, the residents of the border villages of Tavush live in very difficult conditions and they need to have some privileges, since they play the role of a soldier, too.

“People [there] have great expectations from the state. Hence, many suggestions were made, which we will sum up and submit to the government. I believe the six [parliamentary] forces will be united on this matter,” Ruben Hakobyan stated.
