YEREVAN. – Armenia is deeply concerned over violence against Yazidis that led to numerous deaths in Iraq's north, president's spokesperson said in a statement.
Use of violence against any ethnic and religious minority group is absolutely unacceptable, and the international community should take immediate steps to stop the violence and provide humanitarian assistance.
President Sargsyan has instructed foreign ministry and diplomatic missions to double their efforts in international platforms.
On Monday Serzh Sargsyan and Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan discussed issues related to increasing the level of Armenia-provided humanitarian assistance, spokesperson's office reported.
The issue will remain in the focus of official Yerevan, and Armenia will be consistent in providing support to the fraternal Yazidi nation as much as possible.
