The “In Support of Levon Hayrapetyan” Headquarters has asked world-renowned French-Armenian singer, songwriter, actor, public activist, and diplomat Charles Aznavour to postpone his forthcoming concert in Moscow.
Such a request was made as a sign of protest to the detention of Russian-Armenian businessman and benefactor Levon Hayrapetyan.
The headquarters’ respective statement notes that Aznavour’s aforesaid concert is slated for October 3.
Levon Hayrapetyan, 65, was detained in a Moscow airport on July 15 and subsequently arrested. On July 24, the Russian Federation Investigation Committee brought two criminal charges against him: embezzlement or misuse, and money laundering. To note, even though Hayrapetyan has health problems, he is still kept in prison.
