YEREVAN. – The fish farms are not at all the largest water users in the Ararat Valley.

Artur Atoyan, who is head of the Armenian Fish Farmers Association, told the abovementioned to reporters on Wednesday.

In his words, first and foremost, the fish farms are responsible for the drop in the level of the artesian water in the Ararat Valley, and experts from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, who recently visited Armenia, have confirmed this fact.

“The [Armenian] government singled the defenseless; forcible measures are applied against them. But this is not the best way to restore the water resources,” Atoyan stated.
