YEREVAN. – Armenia's Foreign Ministry welcomes passing of California Senate's resolution  recognizing independence of Nagorno-Karabakh, Deputy FM Shavarsh Kocharyan told reporters.

With each resolution, Karabakh is strengthening its status of as a subject of international law.

As reported earlier, the California State Senate on Wednesday passed, by an overwhelming majority of votes, Assembly member Mike Gatto’s resolution (AJR 32) on the recognition of the independence and self-determination of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).

Earlier Karabakh's independence was recognized by Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island.
