Georgia and Azerbaijan will stage joint exercise titled “Safe Caucasus 2014” on Friday at a military range in Georgia's south.
The purpose of the exercise is to improve the coordinated work of the rescue forces in the framework of cooperation between the two countries and a memorandum between Georgia and Azerbaijan on mutual aid during large-scale emergencies.
Besides, the drills will imrpove coordinated co-operation and response to oil spills on land and in the water, according to the agreement signed between British Petrolium and the Georgian government, Novosti Gruziya reported.
The representatives of Georgain internal and labor ministries, emergency situations ministry of Azerbaijan as well as representatives of British Petrolium, Energy Invest companies will particiapte in the maneuvres.
