Turkey’s newly elected President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that he will be moving to a new presidential palace.

Erdogan noted that even though his present-day official residence is still the Cankaya Villa in capital city Ankara, he will move to the new presidential palace once its construction is complete, reported Hürriyet daily of Turkey.

In his words, an agreement has been reached with newly appointed PM—and former FM—Ahmet Davutoglu, according to which Erdogan will be moving to the new presidential palace while Davutoglu will be sitting in the Cankaya Villa.

The Cankaya Villa, which has been the official residence of the presidents of Turkey, was confiscated in 1915 from the Armenian Kasabyan family, who were forcibly exiled from Ankara.
