Armenia’s Ambassador to China, Armen Sargsyan, attended the 4th China-Eurasia International Exhibition and Conference.

The event kicked off Monday in Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China.

Armenian companies are participating in this major international exhibition for the third time. This year’s Armenian pavilion represents several Armenia-based brandy, wine, and vodka producing companies.  

Separately, Ambassador Sargsyan on Tuesday met with Zhang Chunxian, the Communist Party of China Chief for Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

It was noted that the introduction of Armenian products, by way of the abovementioned international exhibition, can contribute to an increase in the volume of bilateral commodity trade. 

Sargsyan stated that the launch of Yerevan-Urumqi direct flights also will be of crucial importance in terms of the development of economic ties and the invigoration of cooperation in tourism.    

Zhang Chunxian, for his part, expressed hope that, with joint efforts, it will be possible to resolve this matter in a foreseeable future.

Within the framework of the international conference, the Armenian ambassador also held a private talk with Governor Nur Bekri of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. They discussed the avenues for cooperation between Armenia and this autonomous region of China.
