YEREVAN. – There is a high probability that a document on Armenia’s Eurasian Economic Union (EaEU) accession will be signed on October 10.

Armenia-based Noravank Analytical Center Director, political scientist Gagik Harutyunyan stated the abovementioned at a press conference on Thursday.

As per Harutyunyan, Kyrgyzstan’s EaEU accession document also could be signed on the same day.

Reflecting on the internal disagreements of this organization, the analyst stressed that Kazakhstan is a Turkic-speaking country, it is apparent that this country has its own preferences, and there are some differences of views between the Russian Federation (RF) and Kazakhstan.

“I believe Armenia’s entry to EaEU will solve the problem of the strengthening of the positions of our present-day allies, since Armenia is the sole established nation state in the EaEU four [It is assumed that Kyrgyzstan likewise will participate in the processes].

“And this will contribute so that decisions that are closer to us—in civilizational terms—are made in EaEU,” the political scientist noted.

He added, however, that there are some civilizational disagreements among the EaEU member states (Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus).

“But I believe they are not that terrible. As an example, we may point to NATO, whose members are Albania, Turkey,” Gagik Harutyunyan compared.
