YEREVAN. – The Russian Rosneft company no longer considers any investment opportunities in Nairit chemical rubber plant of Armenia’s capital city Yerevan.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Yervand Zakharyan had told the aforesaid to the protesting Nairit workers, a demonstrator told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
According to the protesters, the minister announced that the aforementioned Russian company has lost its interest in the project to restore the plant, and therefore the Armenian government is now seeking other options to resume operations at the enterprise.
The Nairit Plant CJSC has ceased production since April 2010. Three years later, however, it was informed that Rosneft had programs toward making investments in the plant.
