STEPANAKERT. – It is cynical to speak about territorial integrity ignoring the right of people to self-determination, Lithuanian Seimas MP Dalia Kuodytė said in Stepanakert.

It is acceptable when speaking about Sahara where no people live, but it is wrong when the two principles are opposed or intersected.

In Nagorno-Karabakh, Lithuanian delegation led by Kuodytė met with the president, lawmakers and foreign minister. They discussed cooperation issues with the Karabakh MPs, karabakh-open.info reported.

Kuodytė said collaboration between the parties may be carried out in different areas. Inviting Karabakh partners to Lithuania, the MP noted that theret they can get acquainted with the work of their Lithuanian colleagues in the field of health, national security, human rights.

At the briefing, Dalia Kuodytė said she was not concerned about the position of Azerbaijan concerning Lithuanian MPs' relations with Artsakh.

“We are realists, and do not believe that a certain move can solve political issues of Artsakh, but to talk and listen to each other and make the voice of Artsakh heard in Lithuania is very important,” she added.

The lawmaker believes it is important to cooperate with the Armenian delegation to PACE during the discussion of various issues, such as human rights and the right of peoples to self-determination.
