YEREVAN. – There is no competition among the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing states, French MP Bruno Le Roux told reporters in Yerevan.

As to France that is certainly holding a special position in Karabakh peace process, and we are not going to stand down, said Le Roux, head of socialist group.

He noted that one should not draw attention to the opinion of Azerbaijani side that the Minsk Group efforts have been exhausted, “since they are wrong”.

The Socialist Party supports the efforts of the President of France on peaceful settlement of the Karabakh issue, despite the fact that there have been recently many provocations.

“Nevertheless, we are confident that the Karabakh issue will have a peaceful solution”.

Le Roux noted that the French Parliament discussed the deaths of Armenian captive in Azerbaijan, and also expressed concern about the tension at the line of contact.
