The Russian Federation (RF) definitely will respond to the new European Union (EU) sanctions, should they be approved, stated the RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

Official Moscow has paid close attention to European Commission President José Manuel Barroso’s and European Council President Herman Van Rompuy’s joint letter on taking restrictive measures against Russia, and to the package of new sanctions against the country, which is agreed upon at the Permanent Representatives Committee of the EU member states.
