YEREVAN. – The delegates of the International Committee of the Red Cross visited Azerbaijani citizen in Nagorno-Karabakh, a representative from ICRC Yerevan office told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

As reported earlier, a citizen of Azerbaijan has been taken captive at an attempt to cross the state border of NKR in north-eastern direction. Mamedov Javid Samiroglu was taken captive on Friday evening.

In addition, the ICRC delegates visited two citizens of Azerbaijan arrested by Nagorno-Karabakh authorities – Shahbaz Guliyev and Dilgam Askerov.

This case demonstrates how the authorities of Armenia, NKR and Azerbaijan allow the ICRC to work in their home countries: the ICRC delegates have already visited the Azerbaijani citizen who was taken captive yesterday. Representatives of the organization in Baku have not been given access to Sargis Ananyan, a citizen of Armenia who was taken captive on August 26.
