YEREVAN. – President of France will do his utmost to organize a meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents, PACE Vice President Rene Rouquet said.

He believes Francois Hollande will do everything for presidents to achieve accord, and in particular on the Karabakh leadership's participation in talks.

One of the missions of French delegation is to inform European and French politicians on the issues related to Karabakh ,Rene Rouquet who is deputy chairman of Armenia-France friendship group, told reporters.

“We have a task to support Armenian delegation at PACE, and at OSCE so that Nagorno-Karabakh could remain Armenian territory in the future, and why not, could be recognized as an independent state,” Rouquet said.

The French lawmaker said he often visits Karabakh and maintains good ties with NKR leadership.

“Leadership of the Nagorno-Karabakh stands out by a high level of political consistency. Azerbaijanis, thanks to their oil resources, are spending millions in the European parliaments and are carrying out lobbying activities among the European lawmakers to the detriment of the Armenian side. These steps oblige the Armenian delegation, as well as foreign political parties supporting Armenia, to exert all efforts to counter Azerbaijan's lobbying initiatives,” he emphasized.
