YEREVAN. – Austria is interested in the development of economic relations with Armenia, and a particular place may have energy cooperation, Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz said in Yerevan. During his official visit, Kurz met with Armenian Energy Minister Yervand Zakharyan.

“ Austrian businessmen who arrived in Armenia as a part of our delegation presented their companies and the opportunities that they can implement in the development of energy sector here,” he said.

The officials discussed opportunities for Armenia-Austria cooperation in the field of energy and natural resources. Armenian and Austrian partners have expressed readiness to use the capacities of the two countries in these important sectors.

Minister Zakharyan stressed importance of the fact that the delegation comprised businessmen interested in the energy sector of Armenia. He noted great opportunities in particular for cooperation in renewable energy: hydropower, wind power and solar energy. The Minister expressed hope that this meeting will be a good starting point for further effective cooperation.
