Štefan Füle, the European Union (EU) Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, refused to compare Crimea with Nagorno-Karabakh.
Haqqin.az reported that Azerbaijani journalists posed this question to Füle: “Why have sanctions been imposed against Russia, which has occupied Crimea, and not [against] Armenia, which has occupied Karabakh?”
The EU commissioner, however, did not respond to this question and solely noted that one cannot draw parallels between Crimea and Karabakh.
In his words, the EU will use all efforts to resolve frozen conflicts.
