YEREVAN. – On Tuesday evening, the Greek parliament will deliberate on a bill that stipulates a stricter punishment for racism, and inciting violence on the grounds of racism.
Non-pro-government Prosperous Armenia Party MP Aragats Akhoyan, who is also vice-chairman of the National Council of Western Armenians, told the aforementioned to reporters on Tuesday.
Amendments were made in Section 2 of this Greek bill. Accordingly, any attempt to disrespect the genocide of the Armenians, or the Greeks, shall be considered a crime.
“In all likelihood, the parliament of Greece will pass the bill,” Akhoyan noted clarifying that the proposed law places the emphasis on the criminalization of the denial of genocides.
